MIBR reportedly set to retain VCT Americas spot through 2028

MIBR has reportedly been selected to remain in the VCT Americas partnership program for the 2027 and 2028 seasons. Riot Games’ top-level VALORANT league will feature eight partnered teams per region from 2027.

Riot Games reportedly informed organizations of the results on Sunday, Oct. 18, after VALORANT Champions 2026. MIBR is expected to remain in the Americas league alongside Brazilian organization LOUD, which confirmed its renewal Monday, Oct. 19. MIBR had not publicly announced its selection at the time of publication.

FURIA was reportedly not selected for the next partnership cycle. If MIBR retains its place, the organization will continue to receive financial support, in-game revenue sharing and direct entry to the Kickoff tournament under the new format.

MIBR joined VCT Americas in 2023. Its results improved in 2025 after it signed Erick “aspas” Santos. The team qualified for Masters Toronto and VALORANT Champions Paris, where it reached the playoffs, defeated Team Heretics and then lost to NRG and DRX. MIBR finished fifth-sixth.

MIBR rebuilt its roster for 2026 by signing Zachary “zekken” Patrone, Andrew “Verno” Maust, Roberto “Mazino” Rivas and Ian “tex” Botsch to play alongside aspas. The team finished third at Kickoff but did not qualify for an international VCT event. LOUD eliminated MIBR in the Stage 2 playoffs, ending the team’s chances of reaching Champions 2026.

Reports linked MIBR’s application to its investment in VALORANT, its Champions 2025 appearance and the results of its Game Changers roster. The team finished among the top three at the 2025 Game Changers Championship. Riot Games’ reported evaluation criteria included fan engagement, competitive results, regional performance and long-term commitment.

Aspas is reportedly under contract with MIBR through the end of 2027.
