Luminosity signs yxngstxr, benches Bymas

Luminosity signed Simon “yxngstxr” Boije from HEROIC after the organization moved Aurimas “Bymas” Pipiras to the bench on Monday. The team said yxngstxr will make his first appearance for Luminosity at Roman Imperium Cup VIII, scheduled for Sept. 10-13.

The addition returns Luminosity’s active roster to six players: Aleks “Rainwaker” Petrov, Aurélien “afro” Drapier, Lucas “lux” Meneghini, Oscar “AZUWU” Bell and Simon “yxngstxr” Boije. Alexander “kakafu” Szymanczyk remains coach, and Aurimas “Bymas” Pipiras is listed as a substitute.

Luminosity announced the signing after recent results in which the core that included lux finished last at XSE Pro League Guangzhou and at the Esports World Cup.

Boije spent the first half of 2026 in an uncertain role at HEROIC. He began the year on the bench, returned to the active lineup as the team’s AWPer while Alimzhan “Alkaren” Bitimbay addressed visa issues, and posted a 1.00 rating in that interim sniper role. He helped HEROIC qualify for Stage 1 of the IEM Cologne Major and was part of title wins at DraculaN Season 5 and Stake Ranked Episode 3.

On X, yxngstxr wrote: “After 2 rough seasons, it’s finally time to go and start the real rifle grind.”

Luminosity will field yxngstxr at Roman Imperium Cup VIII as it prepares for the fall competition slate. The signing replaces Bymas on the active roster and makes yxngstxr available as a rifle and AWP option while Bymas remains on the bench.
