Luminosity in talks for Monte core trio

Luminosity is in negotiations to sign Monte core players Aurimas “Bymas” Pipiras, Oscar “AZUWU” Bell and Aurélien “afro” Drapier, according to multiple sources. Aleks “Rainwaker” Petrov is also linked to a potential transfer, while Monte in-game leader Jack “Gizmy” von Spreckelsen is exploring a separate opportunity.

The discussions follow the approaching expiry of the players’ contracts with Monte. People familiar with the situation say Monte’s management attempted to negotiate contract extensions before the Major. After the team was eliminated by The MongolZ, the players notified the organization they intended to move on.

Rainwaker, who was the most recent addition to Monte, could be part of a transfer package to the North American organization. Sources indicate the prospective Luminosity lineup is expected to be captained by Lucas “lux” Meneghini. Lux was moved to Legacy’s bench in February after that club signed Andrei “arT” Piovezan, and has since been linked to talks with Luminosity.

Monte made its first Major appearance this season, recording wins over Legacy, paiN and PARIVISION and taking top teams such as G2, The MongolZ and eventual champions Falcons to close series before finishing in 12th–14th place. The squad’s Major performance coincided with increased interest from other organizations as their contracts near expiry.

Luminosity returned to professional activity in January 2026 when founder Steve Maida reacquired the brand for CAD 300,000. The organization’s history includes winning the 2016 MLG Columbus Major with an all-Brazilian roster that later transferred to another club and captured an additional Major title. Luminosity had left the scene in 2019 and was relaunched this year.

No official transfer has been announced. Any final roster changes will depend on contract terms, transfer fees and agreement among the parties involved.
