Legacy beat Falcons 3-1 on the final day of the CS Asia Championship in Shanghai to retain the title and claim back-to-back international trophies.
Legacy defeated Falcons 3-1 on the final day of the CS Asia Championship in Shanghai to retain the title and secure back-to-back international trophies. The grand final was played across four maps, with Legacy taking the series after losing the opening map.
Falcons won the first map, Nuke, 13-11 after a closely contested first half and a back-and-forth second half. Legacy responded on Ancient, jumping to a 7-1 lead on the CT side and never giving Falcons sustained offensive momentum. Legacy then won the remaining two maps to complete the 3-1 victory.
The match featured several decisive individual plays. Legacy’s Bruno “latto” Rebelatto finished the event with 83 kills and 52 deaths and a match rating around 1.52, including a 1v3 on Ancient. Eduardo “dumau” Wolkmer posted 65 kills and 59 deaths with a match-impact performance that included a four-kill 1v3 round. Andrei “arT” Piovezan was part of the roster after joining earlier this season; Legacy’s results this year include a top-eight finish at ESL Pro League, third place at IEM Atlanta and now the CS Asia Championship trophy.
Falcons showed strong individual numbers from Maksim “kyousuke” Lukin, who recorded 79 kills and 58 deaths with a rating near 1.41, and Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov, who had 69 kills and 56 deaths and made early contributions. Nikola “NiKo” Kovač finished with 42 kills and 58 deaths and a rating around 0.85, while team leader Finn “karrigan” Andersen recorded 29 kills and 59 deaths with a rating near 0.59. Falcons’ offense struggled on the T side in the final two maps, where they were unable to sustain productive attack rounds.
The result is Legacy’s retained CS Asia Championship crown and their first international trophy since adding arT. For Falcons, the result is a second-place finish for the second event since signing karrigan and extends their streak of seven consecutive losses in grand finals.
