Legacy sweeps Astralis 2-0; Liquid ousts M80 at IEM Atlanta

Legacy beat Astralis 2-0 to reach the IEM Atlanta playoffs. Team Liquid recovered to eliminate M80 and advance to the lower-bracket semifinals.
Legacy beat Astralis 2-0 at IEM Atlanta 2026, to secure a spot in the event’s playoff bracket. The series took place in Atlanta, where Legacy closed both maps without requiring a decider.
On Dust2, Legacy opened with an early ace from Eduardo “dumau” Wolkmer in a 2v5 that helped trigger a six-round run after an initial deficit. Legacy won Dust2 13-8. On Astralis’ map pick, Nuke, Legacy controlled the CT side and converted rounds on the attack to finish 13-6. Bruno “latto” Rebelatto led Legacy across the series with a 37-19 record and a 1.65 rating. Dumau finished 37-24 with a 1.33 rating, and Andrei “arT” Piovezan had a 1.29 rating. Astralis’ top performer was Viktor “Staehr” Staehr at 28-31 and a 1.09 rating.
Astralis drops to the lower bracket and will face SINNERS in an elimination match.
In the North American derby, M80 took the first map on Dust2, winning the half 8-4 and closing out the map 13-4. Michael “Swisher” Schmid produced key rounds, including a 1v2 on B, to secure the first-map victory for M80. Liquid responded on Inferno. Mario “malbsMd” Samayoa won a 1v3 early in the second half that helped spark a comeback; Liquid won Inferno 13-8. On Ancient, Liquid carried momentum into a 13-5 finish after winning the second pistol on defense to seal the series 2-1.
Liquid’s top performers across the series were Keith “NAF” Markovic at 46-31 with a 1.46 rating, malbsMd at 44-34 with a 1.27 rating, and Kamil “siuhy” Szkaradek at 33-33. M80 posted strong numbers from Swisher (44-35, 1.29) and Elias “s1n” Stein (43-33, 1.25) but could not extend the match beyond three maps.
With the win, Liquid advance to the lower-bracket semifinals to face GamerLegion. IEM Atlanta continues with those elimination and playoff matches.
