Legacy eliminated from IEM Beijing by B8

Legacy lost to B8 in the IEM Beijing lower bracket, ending their tournament run and extending their losing streak to four series.

Legacy were eliminated from IEM Beijing after losing to B8 in the lower bracket, extending their run of results to four consecutive series defeats.

The Brazilian team entered the event after winning FISSURE Playground 3 in September, which lifted them to second place in the VRS. Since ESL Pro League, Legacy have won three of 13 series, against ShindeN, PARIVISION and DENDELE.

B8 returned to competition after missing the Major with a win over Legacy. Andrii “npl” Kukharskyi led the Ukrainian team with 54 kills and a 1.43 rating across the two maps. He had 25 kills on Dust2 before recording five opening kills, a one-versus-two clutch and a quad-kill on Mirage.

Santino “try” Rigal was Legacy’s top performer, finishing with 57 kills, 29 deaths and a 1.42 rating. He went 27-12 on Dust2 and added 20 kills on Mirage. Bruno “latto” Rebelato was the only other Legacy player to finish with a rating above 1.00.

Italo “ksloks” Meinberg made his Legacy debut after replacing Vinicius “n1ssim” Pereira before the tournament. He posted a 1.03 rating overall, with ratings below 0.87 on four of the six maps he played at the event.

Legacy’s recent results followed Andrei “arT” Piovezan’s enforced absence because of meningitis. The team had won two editions of CS Asia Championships and FISSURE Playground 3 in China before their exit from IEM Beijing.

B8 will face Natus Vincere in the next lower-bracket round.
