Krafton India launches BMPS 2026 with promotion, EWC slots
Krafton India launched BMPS 2026 on May 6, adding promotion-and-relegation in qualifiers as 64 teams compete for over ₹2 crore and two Esports World Cup 2026 slots.
KRAFTON India launched the BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA PRO SERIES (BMPS) 2026 on May 6. The tournament features 64 teams competing through May and June for a prize pool of over ₹2 crore and two qualification slots for the Esports World Cup 2026 in Riyadh.
The qualifiers introduce a promotion-and-relegation system. After every six matches, teams will move between groups based on results: the top four teams in Groups B, C and D will move up, while the bottom four teams in Groups A, B and C will drop down. Organizers said the change is aimed at rewarding consistent performance from the start of the event.
BMPS 2026 is organized across five stages. The Qualifiers run from May 6 to May 31 with 64 teams; the top eight in Group A will advance directly to the Grand Finals and the bottom eight in Group D will be eliminated. The Survival Stage takes place June 2–5 with 32 teams competing for eight Semi-Finals spots. The Semi-Finals run June 9–12 with 24 teams competing for six places. A Last Chance round on June 13–14 will decide the final two Grand Finals entrants. The Grand Finals will be a LAN event on June 19–21 featuring 16 teams. Matches will be played on maps including Erangel, Miramar and Rondo.
KRAFTON reduced the field from 96 teams in BMPS 2025 to 64 teams for 2026. Invitations and seedings were based on rankings from BGIS 2026, the UE India Rising Series, the College Campus Tour and KRAFTON India Esports (KIE) invited teams. Organizers said teams and players were vetted to remove participants flagged in earlier competitions. Confirmed teams include iQOO SOUL, Godlike Esports, iQOO Orangutan, iQOO Revenant XSpark, Gods Reign, True Rippers, iQOO 8BIT, NEBULA Esports, Phoenix Esports, Genesis Esports and Team AX, along with 53 other invited squads.
The event awards two Esports World Cup slots for India. One slot goes to the team ranked highest on the overall KRAFTON India Esports leaderboard after BMPS concludes; the other goes to the BMPS 2026 champion. If one team holds both positions, the BMPS runner-up will receive the second slot. The Esports World Cup in Riyadh will feature 32 teams from Southeast Asia, MENA, Europe and the Americas and is scheduled for August 6–16.
All matches will be streamed live on KRAFTON India Esports’ official YouTube and Facebook channels.
At the launch, Karan Pathak, Associate Director – Esports at KRAFTON India, commented: “BMPS has always been the proving ground for India’s top professional BGMI teams, and BMPS 2026 takes that promise to a new level. With Promotion and Relegation now part of the Qualifiers, every match from day one carries weight. This format rewards consistency, sharpens competition, and ensures that the squad lifting the BMPS 2026 trophy will be the most resilient team in the country, ready to fly the flag for India in Riyadh.”
