JBOEN impresses in FaZe debut at XSE Pro League

Jason JBOEN Boe Nielsen recorded a 1.35 rating in his first event with FaZe at the XSE Pro League in Guangzhou and was second on the overall rating leaderboard after the Swiss group stage. His rating was the highest on FaZe following the group matches.

FaZe began the Swiss stage 0-2, recovered to a 3-2 finish and advanced to the quarter-finals. The team is scheduled to play BetBoom in the quarter-finals on Friday at 11:00 local time.

FaZe signed JBOEN on loan from BIG Academy for the remainder of 2026. Guangzhou is his first event with the FaZe roster after joining the club in the off-season.

On his play in Guangzhou, JBOEN described his reaction: ‘I’m proud of myself, honestly. I was expecting to play a bit worse… I thought I’d maybe put up an average rating or something like that.’ He said he was surprised by his early performance.

JBOEN outlined his prior clubs as Astralis Talent, a period with Preasy and then BIG Academy. He described joining BIG Academy as a return to a structured team after informal stints.

He spoke about the difference in level when practicing and competing with FaZe teammates such as frozen and Twistzz, noting the higher tempo and more detailed in-game routines. ‘The guys have so much experience. They know what to do, they know what not to do,’ he said when asked about sharing the lineup with established players.

Regarding the tournament, JBOEN said his priority is to contribute and improve with the team. He noted FaZe had limited practice before the event and added that there was no fixed target to win the tournament. He also commented that he feels more focused performing on stage with a crowd: ‘I think I actually play better with a crowd on the stage. I feel more focused… I like it a lot.’

The loan covers the rest of 2026, allowing JBOEN to compete with FaZe through the year. His 1.35 rating remains in the tournament statistics as FaZe advance to the knockout stage.
