HEROIC out of PGL Astana after 2-1 loss to magic

HEROIC were knocked out of PGL Astana after a 2-1 loss to magic, following earlier defeats to FURIA and Gentle Mates despite a 2-0 opening win over Aurora.
HEROIC were eliminated from PGL Astana 2026 after a 2-1 loss to magic, with the decider finishing 13-6 in favor of magic.
HEROIC opened the event with a 2-0 victory over Aurora but then lost to FURIA and Gentle Mates. Against Gentle Mates the team collected 10 rounds across two maps, leaving them needing a win over world No. 40 magic to advance.
magic won the third map 13-6 to claim the match and progress in the PGL Astana bracket.
HEROIC recorded a 39.3% win rate on the Terrorist side across the event. No HEROIC player posted a CT-side rating above 1.00. Linus “nilo” Bergmann led HEROIC with a tournament rating of 1.20. Tim “susp” Ångström had a 1.04 rating, Simon “yxngstxr” Boije 1.00, Yasin “xfl0ud” Koç 0.86 and Christoffer “Chr1zN” Storgaard 0.78.
By comparison, magic’s Vitaliy “sFade8” Marushka posted a 1.32 rating and Abdurakhim “mo0N” Issam a 1.19 rating. Andrey “AW” Anisimov and Svyatoslav “MaSvAl” Masko each registered 1.04.
Chr1zN reflected on the period after Cluj-Napoca: “We weren’t… I’d say, ready for [Cluj]. There was too much change, and a lot of stuff was uncertain with the team and so on. Now that there is a bit more calm and everyone has gotten the month to practice and actually feel each other out, it’s going to be much better.”
The roster continues to include Alimzhan “Alkaren” Bitimbay as an option off the bench. With the Major on the calendar, HEROIC will return to offline and online practice to finalize rotations and roles ahead of that event.
