Google Play Sponsors ASL Season 22 at Lotte World
SOOP launched ASL Season 22 with Google Play as title sponsor. Round of 24 began in August and the Grand Finals are set for Oct. 17 in a 1,000-seat arena on Lotte World’s ice rink in Seoul.
SOOP launched ASL Season 22 presented by Google Play, with Google Play returning as title sponsor for a fourth consecutive season since Season 19. The Round of 24 began in August and opening-week matches concluded on Aug. 20 at Freecup Studio in Seoul, where games are streamed to online audiences with a live studio crowd. The Grand Finals are scheduled for Oct. 17 in a temporary 1,000-seat arena constructed on the ice rink inside Lotte World.
The sponsorship agreement covers broadcast, jersey and venue branding through the Grand Finals. To convert online viewership into measurable engagement, SOOP and Google Play will run live broadcast “Drops” and offer Google Play Points incentives tied to streams. On-site fan activities at the Lotte World activation will be ticketed and managed through Ticketlink.
Google Play also backs SOOP’s FC Online Super Champions League. SOOP has extended partnerships with Gen.G and BNK FEARX through 2028, covering League of Legends properties alongside the ASL franchise.
Regular-season matches will continue at Freecup Studio while organizers prepare the temporary arena at Lotte World for the Oct. 17 finale, which will be the league’s largest offline venue activation in several years.
