GOALS launches year-round esports circuit with $10,000 Open
GOALS has launched a native competitive esports ecosystem with year-round online Majors and an offline Masters. Registration for the $10,000 GOALS Open opens July 20, 2026.
Stockholm-based independent studio GOALS has launched a native competitive esports ecosystem for its football title, centred on year-round online GOALS Majors and a live offline GOALS Masters championship.
The GOALS Majors will operate as ongoing online events where the top 500 players on a global leaderboard compete for prestige and qualification points. The GOALS Masters will serve as the season’s offline finale, with invitations earned through past championship results or qualifying stages.
GOALS’ competitive calendar begins with the GOALS Open circuit, featuring a $10,000 total cash prize pool. Global registration opens July 20, 2026. Regional Pre-Qualifiers run August 7–9, and successful players advance to Regional Finals across three territories-Europe & Africa; Americas; and Asia, Middle East & Pacific-scheduled for August 14–16. The season concludes with a live Grand Finals event on September 12, 2026, in Stockholm, Sweden.
The studio designed the ecosystem with a decentralised structure to support community organisers alongside professional players. The Host Your Own Cup initiative gives independent tournament organisers and content creators access to advanced spectator features, tournament-creation tools, and official prize support that includes in-game packs.
GOALS has also allocated dedicated Inclusivity First development resources aimed at improving access and representation for marginalised communities within competitive play.
Founded by former Counter-Strike professional Andreas Thorstensson, GOALS employs more than 70 developers across 20 countries. The studio says it will prioritise competitive integrity, deep gameplay mechanics and a broadcast experience intended to be accessible to players and viewers at different skill levels.
Details for registering players and participating organisers will be published when sign-ups open on July 20, 2026.
