G2 rout Aurora 13-1 on Mirage to clinch Porto playoff spot
G2 beat Aurora 2-1 at BLAST Open Porto, securing a Super Bock Arena playoff berth after a 13-1 win on the Mirage decider.
G2 defeated Aurora 2-1 at BLAST Open Porto to secure a place in the Super Bock Arena playoffs, closing the series with a 13-1 win on the deciding Mirage map. The result came in the Group A lower final, a rematch of the event opener when G2 swept Aurora 2-0.
On Anubis, G2 managed only three Terrorist rounds and spent much of the map under pressure from Aurora. Inferno began with a 6-0 lead for G2, but Aurora responded strongly when Özgür “woxic” Eker produced consecutive quad-kills that shifted momentum. Late on Inferno, Guy “NertZ” Iluz landed a three-kill spray after Ismailcan “XANTARES” Dörtkardeş failed to clear Banana, and Aurora used that advantage to force overtime.
G2 recovered in overtime on Inferno and won the map to force a decider on Mirage. Aurora took the opening pistol round on Mirage, but G2 then seized control. Artem “r1nkle” Moroz won a 1v4 clutch that halted a four-on-one in Aurora’s favor, and a subsequent flank by NertZ cost Aurora another round. G2 extended that advantage and finished Mirage 13-1.
Individual impact plays were frequent across the series. Woxic’s multiple multi-kill rounds kept Aurora competitive on Inferno, Matúš “MATYS” Šimko produced a four-kill round and later closed a 1v2, and r1nkle’s 1v4 on Mirage broke Aurora’s resistance. G2’s balanced contributions across players decided the series.
With the win, G2 advanced to the Super Bock Arena playoff bracket at BLAST Open Porto. Aurora lost the Group A lower final and did not reach the playoff stage.
