G2 beat BETBOOM to reach FISSURE Playground 3 final

G2 defeated BETBOOM 2-1 in the FISSURE Playground 3 semi-final on Sept. 13 (Mirage 7-13, Anubis 16-13, Ancient 13-7) to advance to the grand final against Legacy.

G2 beat BETBOOM 2-1 in the FISSURE Playground 3 semi-final at the event on Sept. 13, winning Anubis 16-13 and Ancient 13-7 after dropping Mirage 7-13. The victory sends G2 into the grand final to face Legacy.

BETBOOM took the opening map, Mirage, 13-7. The team built a 7-2 lead early. Matúš ‘MATYS’ Šimko produced multikills that narrowed the gap to two rounds at half, but Kirill ‘Magnojez’ Rodnov finished the map with a 1v3 clutch to close out the win for BETBOOM.

Anubis was tighter. G2 led for much of the map after strong play on their T side, and the match reached overtime following a late 1v3 clutch from Aleksandr ‘zorte’ Zagodyrenko for BETBOOM. G2 won the overtime exchanges to level the series.

The decider on Ancient ended 13-7 in G2’s favour. Guy ‘NertZ’ Iluz produced a fake-plant 1v3 clutch that sealed the match. NertZ recorded 21 kills, 110.5 ADR and a 1.54 rating across the series, and posted a 1.62 map rating on Anubis. MATYS finished Mirage with a 1.62 map rating.

BETBOOM players delivered late-game plays on the first two maps, with Magnojez’s 1v3 on Mirage and zorte’s OT-forcing 1v3 on Anubis, but G2 won the final two maps to progress.

G2 will meet Legacy in the grand final. Legacy have won two events in China in the past 12 months.
