Fortnite Season 4 Overdrive to add major game crossovers

Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4, Overdrive, launches on Aug. 20. Epic Games plans a large set of crossovers featuring Sonic the Hedgehog, Sora from Kingdom Hearts, Persona characters, Pac-Man, Tetris, Mega Man and the fan-made Roblox title 99 Nights in the Forest.

Sonic has been a central teaser. An account affiliated with Sonic posted an animation of Sonic running through a scene that resembles Green Hill Zone, suggesting a themed location. Epic’s teasers indicate Sonic will be available as a Battle Pass outfit and a short clip hinted at Dr. Eggman. Epic has not published a full roster or item list.

From Kingdom Hearts, Sora and the Keyblade are expected to appear, with more details due at D23 2026. The Persona collaboration stems from an agreement between Sega and Epic timed ahead of Persona 6; Epic has not confirmed which Persona characters or cosmetics will arrive.

The season’s ‘Survive the Night’ slogan is linked to 99 Nights in the Forest, a popular fan-made game on Roblox. Fans connected the phrase to that title rather than to Minecraft or Five Nights at Freddy’s. Specific crossover content for 99 Nights has not been disclosed.

Other confirmed or hinted elements include Pac-Man, whose music recently played at Fortnite’s Wonkeeland point of interest, and Tetris, where cloud shapes in teaser clips resembled Tetris pieces. Mega Man is expected as a Capcom skin, with a Back Bling inspired by his robot dog, Rush. Rumors of a Crash Bandicoot appearance have slowed but remain possible after users spotted a teaser block resembling Crash-style elements.

Players can expect crossover items such as Battle Pass outfits, themed Back Bling and in-game changes to locations. Epic’s daily teaser drops indicate more specifics will be released before the season launch or at related events.

Separately, Big Walk, a cooperative game from the creators of Untitled Goose Game, has sold more than one million copies.
