FlyQuest parts ways with AWPer João ‘story’ Vieira

FlyQuest announced that João “story” Vieira is no longer on its active roster after a six-month stint. The 24-year-old Portuguese AWPer joined the club for the first half of 2026 and the organization wished him well in his next chapter.

Story played mostly second-tier events before the IEM Cologne Major. At Cologne he posted a 1.00 rating in Stage 1 as FlyQuest went 3-2 to advance, then recorded a 0.86 rating across four consecutive maps the team lost in Stage 2. Across his six months with FlyQuest he finished with a 1.10 overall rating.

He has been linked to talks about reuniting SAW’s 2024 core that reached the IEM Cologne semi-finals; neither FlyQuest nor SAW have confirmed a transfer and no official deal has been announced.

FlyQuest’s active roster now lists Justin “jks” Savage, Joshua “INS” Potter, Declan “Vexite” Portelli and Corey “nettik” Browne, with Aaron “AZR” Ward serving as coach. The organization will need to name a replacement for the AWP role. FlyQuest previously signed Iulian “regali” Harjău for 2025 and recruited story for the early part of 2026, again bringing in AWPers from outside its region.

The club’s brief announcement did not specify whether story will move to an inactive roster, enter free agency, or join another team. The player has not commented publicly on his status.
