FlyQuest eliminates THUNDER dOWNUNDER with 12-0 CT at IEM Cologne

FlyQuest eliminated THUNDER dOWNUNDER in Stage 1 pool play at the IEM Cologne Major. The result removes THUNDER from the tournament and moves FlyQuest into the 2-2 pool.

On Anubis FlyQuest opened with an eight-round defensive run. On Inferno FlyQuest won the entire CT half 12-0, which decided the match and ended THUNDER’s run at the Major.

Individual statistics for FlyQuest included Declan “Vexite” Portelli with a 36-21 K-D, 99.2 ADR and a 1.66 rating; Justin “jks” Savage with 38-24, 96.0 ADR and a 1.38 rating; and Corey “nettik” Browne with 30-21, 83.3 ADR and a 1.49 rating. João “story” Vieira finished 27-20 with 63.0 ADR and a 1.05 rating, and Joshua “INS” Potter had 24-29 with 67.9 ADR and a 0.85 rating.

THUNDER dOWNUNDER statistics included Tyson “asap” Paterson at 24-30 with 81.2 ADR and a 1.14 rating; Alistair “aliStair” Johnston 26-28 with 65.7 ADR and a 1.03 rating; Jay “Liazz” Tregillgas 21-31 with 61.2 ADR and a 0.79 rating; Christopher “dexter” Nong 26-34 with 75.2 ADR and a 0.75 rating; and Tynan “TjP” Purtell 18-32 with 52.2 ADR and a 0.61 rating. Earlier in the event THUNDER recorded an upset win over MIBR and a close match against B8. A loss to BIG placed THUNDER in the elimination bracket before they faced FlyQuest.

FlyQuest will play a single-elimination match on Friday for a place in Stage 2. THUNDER dOWNUNDER are out of the Major.
