Falcons beat K27 2-0 at PGL Astana in Finn “karrigan” Andersen’s debut, winning Dust2 and clinching Ancient in the final regulation round.

Falcons advanced to 1-0 in their Swiss pool at PGL Astana after a 2-0 win over K27 in Finn “karrigan” Andersen’s first match with the team. The series, played during the PGL Astana Swiss stage, finished in two maps: Dust2 and Ancient.

On Dust2, Falcons led early and held a tight defense in the first half. Daniil “qw1nk1” Kabilov led K27 with 13 frags. K27 trailed 3-9 before a Dual Berettas quad-kill from Aleksey “xeedo” Mikulich narrowed the gap. Falcons then ran four rounds after stabilizing their economy and closed the map without a decider.

On Ancient, Falcons opened 6-0 while K27 worked to recover. Qw1nk1 recorded 16 CT-side frags and helped K27 chip away at the deficit. Maksim “kyousuke” Lukin produced a quad-kill that extended Falcons’ control, then K27 put together a five-round streak to tie the score at 11-11. Nikola “NiKo” Kovač won a 2v3 clutch late and Falcons took the final round to complete the 2-0 victory.

Match statistics showed Daniil “qw1nk1” Kabilov with 37 kills, a 1.58 rating and 95.5 ADR for K27. Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov led Falcons with 36 kills, a 1.56 rating and 89.3 ADR. Maksim “kyousuke” Lukin had 32 kills and a 1.24 rating. Nikola “NiKo” Kovač recorded 27 kills and a 1.09 rating. Finn “karrigan” Andersen finished with 22 kills, a 0.77 rating and 59.4 ADR. K27 teammates posted ratings below 1.00 for most players, including Aleksey “xeedo” Mikulich (21 kills, 0.86 rating, 63.0 ADR), Daniil “X5G7V” Maryshev (23 kills, 0.79 rating, 61.5 ADR), Petr “fame” Bolyshev (22 kills, 0.78 rating, 73.5 ADR) and Danila “kashl1d” Dronov (16 kills, 0.73 rating, 34.3 ADR).

Falcons entered the event with limited practice and closed the match in two maps. They carry a 1-0 record in the Swiss stage and will play further Swiss matches. K27 will return to the Swiss stage seeking their first win.
