Karrigan joins Falcons as IGL, reunites with NiKo and zonic

Karrigan left FaZe to become Falcons’ in-game leader, reuniting with NiKo and coach zonic. He called the role long-term and said Falcons expect results within nine to twelve months.

Anders “karrigan” Rasmussen left FaZe Clan to join Falcons as the team’s in-game leader. The agreement reunited him with NiKo and coach zonic after negotiations finished hours before the contract deadline. He had recently re-signed with FaZe but kept talks private to avoid breaking trust if the transfer did not complete.

Karrigan described the role as a long-term solution. “I would never do it as a three-month or six-month stint,” he said, while adding that Falcons expect clear results within nine to twelve months. He also set nearer-term targets, saying he needs the team to show visible progress within a month and significant improvement by the end of the next season.

His duties combine in-game calling with a public leadership role. Karrigan will run tactics and take responsibility for mid- and late-round decisions, but roster and business matters remain under the club’s management. He said his approach differs from the previous caller, kyxsan, and that he will restart the team’s T-side with a system that balances structure and individual freedom. When required he will micro-manage round endings; otherwise he will let players take initiative.

The reunion with NiKo and zonic is framed as professional. Karrigan said there is no bad blood and called both players more mature leaders. He praised NiKo’s mid-round reads and secondary leading, and said zonic gives him space to implement his system while providing detailed in-game input that eases pressure on the IGL.

Karrigan assessed Falcons’ roster in practice. He described m0NESY as “insane” and called him the best AWPer he has played with, citing fast decision-making and creative mid-round play. He said m0NESY already anticipates calls and pre-fires scenarios, creating a quick on-field connection. On TeSeS, karrigan said the player does more for the team than statistics show and urged a bit more selfishness in certain situations. He noted kyousuke’s strength in timing and zone clearing and expects to set the pace in some mid-rounds.

Karrigan pointed to a pattern of strong group-stage results and inconsistent playoff finishes for Falcons. He said his own historical win rate is stronger in playoffs and that improving communication and timing will be immediate priorities. He plans to adjust tactics quickly during knockout matches.

He commented on FaZe’s recent form, noting the team appears to have released pressure and is enjoying the game following the roster change. Karrigan described early work at Falcons as encouraging after eight to nine days of practice following the team’s return from Brazil. “I really enjoy waking up every morning right now grinding,” he added.

Falcons will use upcoming events, including the next tournament and the run to Cologne and the Singapore Major, to test the new system and measure whether the lineup meets the club’s results timeline.
