EWC Playoff Draw Puts Vitality, Falcons and Spirit Together

Spirit, Vitality and Falcons were drawn on the same side of the Esports World Cup 2026 playoff bracket, so only one of the three can reach the grand final.

After the Esports World Cup 2026 group stage concluded, the playoff draw placed Spirit, Vitality and Falcons on the same half of the knockout bracket. The draw followed the group stage and means only one of those three teams can advance to the grand final.

Group-stage upsets affected seeding. Organizers placed group winners and runners-up into separate pools for the draw; results from the group phase shuffled the seeding and produced the current bracket alignment. The tournament moves into single-elimination play on 19 August 2026.

The opening round on 19 August 2026 is scheduled to start at 14:00 and features G2 versus Astralis, FURIA versus Aurora, FUT versus magic, GamerLegion versus MOUZ, Natus Vincere versus Legacy, Falcons versus The MongolZ, FaZe versus Vitality, and B8 versus Spirit.

FURIA is on the opposite half of the bracket from Spirit, Vitality and Falcons and will not meet any of those three teams until the later rounds. Because the three teams share one side of the bracket, at least two of them will be eliminated before the final.

The playoff stage will decide the tournament semifinalists and finalists. Matches on 19 August mark the start of the single-elimination phase, with advancing teams progressing through the knockout bracket toward the grand final.
