Evo Brazil 2027 announces eight games, R$1 million prize pool

Evo Brazil 2027 will feature eight games and a guaranteed R$1 million prize pool at its March 26–28 debut in São Paulo.

Evo Brazil 2027 will take place from March 26 to 28, 2027, at the Expo Center Norte in São Paulo. The event is the Evolution Championship Series’ first edition in South America and will have a guaranteed minimum prize pool of R$1 million, or about $187,000, shared across its eight official games.

The open-bracket competitions will feature Street Fighter 6, TEKKEN 8, Mortal Kombat 1, FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves, Guilty Gear -Strive-, THE KING OF FIGHTERS XV, Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game and MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls.

Competitor registration and ticket sales opened on Oct. 27, 2026. The event will also include an Evo Museum, an Artist Alley, cosplay showcases, retail areas and fan-run Bring Your Own Community tournament spaces.

In a press release, Evo General Manager Rick Thiher connected the event with São Paulo’s arcade culture and local fighting game community.

“Bringing Evo to São Paulo will be an opportunity to honour this legacy, highlight the incredible passion of Brazilian players and fans, and invite the global fighting game community to take part in the next chapter of Evo’s history,” Thiher said. “We are thrilled to bring the world together in a city that understands what makes these games so extraordinary.”

São Paulo hosted Versus: Evo South America community events in 2008 and 2009. Evo Brazil 2027 is part of the circuit’s international expansion by parent company RTS, which is adding events in Mexico, Singapore, Morocco, Saudi Arabia and China alongside tournaments in the United States, Japan and France.

Rafael Queiroz, Evo’s head of Latin America and former general manager of Team Liquid Brazil, leads the organisation’s regional operations. He joined Evo to develop local opportunities for fighting game competitors and communities.

Visa and PlayStation Tournaments will support the event. Visa has a multiyear global sponsorship agreement with Evo, while PlayStation Tournaments is supporting the circuit’s South American debut.
