Cobrazera: Rest and energy to boost MongolZ after Bucharest

After a month off, MongolZ rallied from 3-10 to beat Magic in four overtimes; Cobrazera says rest, ten days of practice and MaaRaa’s return will improve their form.

MongolZ opened PGL Astana with a comeback win over Magic. The team trailed 3-10, forced four overtimes and saved six match points before closing the match.

Anarbileg ‘Cobrazera’ Uuganbayar said the match was MongolZ’s first competitive outing after nearly a month away from tournaments. The break produced some ring rust but allowed players to recover and handle health and personal matters.

The squad practiced for about 10 days before Astana, mostly in Mongolia against regional opponents. He noted that facing Asian teams required adjustments to playstyle and that competing regularly at the top level has helped players learn opponents’ approaches.

‘We rested and we have so much energy, so we will do better from before, from Bucharest,’ Cobrazera said, referring to the team’s third-place finish at PGL Bucharest and the effect of the break on their preparation.

MongolZ made changes to off-game support and discussed in-game adjustments aimed at reducing mistakes. MaaRaa returned to the lineup for Astana; Cobrazera described his presence as making the unit feel ‘full.’

MongolZ now prepare for tougher opponents in the event, including Falcons and Team Spirit, and aim to build on the Astana opener while limiting errors as they face more tier-one competition.
