Casper ‘ruggah’ Due retires after more than a decade

Casper ‘ruggah’ Due, 38, has announced his retirement from professional Counter-Strike coaching after more than ten years in the scene. He made the announcement the day after appearing as a pundit on the BLAST Open Porto desk.

Due was released by Astralis following the team’s result at the IEM Cologne Major. Astralis appointed Filip ‘NEO’ Kubski as his replacement after the tournament.

He did not join another team over the summer and instead moved into broadcast work, appearing on the BLAST Open Porto desk before announcing his retirement.

During his career, Due worked with Dignitas, where the team won EPICENTER, and later with North, OpTic, OG and Astralis. His roles covered team preparation, strategy development and support for in-game leadership.

No public statement from Due accompanied the retirement announcement beyond his broadcast appearance and the timing of the news. Astralis has since continued to adjust its coaching staff.

Due leaves coaching after more than ten years with several European teams and a short period working in esports media.
