Bruno ‘Butcher’ Pereira named paiN communications manager

paiN Gaming announced the promotion of Bruno ‘Butcher’ Pereira to Content and Communications Manager during a press conference that introduced the club’s renewed League of Legends roster. Pereira joined paiN as Content Manager in late 2025. He is a veteran esports journalist and a former Riot Games staffer who previously served as editor at a Brazilian esports outlet.

In his expanded role, Pereira will oversee the organisation’s media strategy, public relations and community communications. He is charged with coordinating content production with corporate messaging across competitive teams and lifestyle projects, leading brand storytelling and managing direct engagement with fans and sponsors.

The appointment follows a turbulent period for the club. In March 2026, CEO Thomas Hamence resigned after investigative reports examined how the organisation handled sexual abuse allegations involving League of Legends player Alexandre ‘TitaN’ Lima. The reporting prompted criticism on social media and led several organised fan groups to disassociate from the club. On the competitive side, paiN recorded its worst-ever League of Legends split, registering one match victory.

PaiN has also pursued alternative competitions to broaden its activities. The club fielded a team in the Kings League under the Desimpain name through a co-branded arrangement with a Brazilian sports media channel; that team won the domestic tournament and qualified for the international edition of the competition.

Some supporters continue to call for further leadership changes. The club presented Pereira’s role as a centralised communications position to streamline external messaging and coordinate content outputs across its competitive and lifestyle divisions.
