Belgium and Germany clinch EU West play-in spots

Belgium and Germany secured the two play-in berths from the ENC EU West League of Legends qualifier on June 22, 2026. The regional bracket decided which national teams would move on to the ENC play-in stage.
Germany advanced through the winners’ bracket and clinched a play-in place without dropping to the lower bracket. Belgium reached the grand final after a lower-bracket run that included a win over the Netherlands in the lower-bracket final.
The Netherlands had been sent to the lower bracket after losing to Germany. Team GB opened the event with a victory over Austria, then lost a single-game series to Italy and moved to the lower bracket. Team GB beat Iceland in the lower bracket before being eliminated by Switzerland; Switzerland was later eliminated by Belgium.
Belgium’s roster for the qualifier included Raphaël ‘Targamas’ Crabbé, Yasin ‘Nisqy’ Dinçer and Finn ‘Bwipo’ Wiestål. Nisqy had recently played support in a top European league. Germany’s squad featured Joel ‘Irrelevant’ Scharoll and Timo ‘Tockimo’ Bock, with its bot lane represented by players affiliated with Eintracht Spandau and Team Orange Gaming.
The Netherlands fielded former professionals Mark ‘Markoon’ van Woensel and Fabian ‘Febiven’ Diepstraten but did not advance. Team GB exited before the play-in stage following their lower-bracket elimination by Switzerland.
Both Belgium and Germany had not secured direct qualification earlier in the selection process because several top-name players were temporarily unavailable, which affected their initial seeding. With those players available for the qualifier, both countries progressed to the play-in stage.
Belgium and Germany will now take part in the ENC play-ins, where they will face qualifiers from other regions for places in the main ENC event.
