Alter Ego’s BOROS suspended from 2026 Asian Champions League
Alter Ego player Mohammad “BOROS” Malhas will miss the 2026 Asian Champions League after the tournament organizer banned him following an investigation into alleged racially discriminatory language.
Hero Esports, the organizer of the Asian Champions League, announced that Mohammad “BOROS” Malhas of Alter Ego is barred from the 2026 event after an investigation found he used racially discriminatory language during the ACL x CS2 preparation period. The organizer also issued Alter Ego a formal warning for what it described as a failure in player supervision.
A video clip circulating online appears to show BOROS using derogatory language directed at Chinese teammates, though the organizer did not confirm whether that clip was the specific incident under investigation. Neither Alter Ego nor BOROS has commented publicly on the suspension.
Alter Ego is currently competing in the closed qualifier for the ACL. Tomasz “tomiko” Uroda is serving as a stand-in for BOROS. The main event is scheduled to take place in Shanghai later this month with invited teams including TYLOO, Lynn Vision, FlyQuest and SemperFi. The tournament carries a total prize pool of $150,000.
The organizer wrote: “We do not, and will not, tolerate hate speech, racism, or any form of discrimination. We are committed to fostering a respectful and inclusive environment for all participants and fans.” Alongside the player ban, the organizer flagged Alter Ego for a failure in player supervision during the preparation period.
BOROS is one of Alter Ego’s more prominent players. His absence comes as the team seeks to qualify for one of China’s larger Counter-Strike LAN events.
