AaB Counter-Strike squad rebrands as Esports Academy Copenhagen
AaB’s Counter-Strike team rebranded as Esports Academy Copenhagen and ended its affiliation with the Danish football club; roster and operations remain unchanged, EAC wrote.
AaB’s Counter-Strike squad will compete under the name Esports Academy Copenhagen after ending its formal affiliation with Danish football club AaB, the organization announced. The roster, staff and daily operations will continue unchanged.
The lineup remains Tobias ‘bekker’ Bekker, Mikkel ‘Maze’ Sparvath, Mikkel ‘n1Xen’ Borlund, Simon ‘sSen’ Solnæs Iversen and Andreas ‘anber’ Brandt. The team is ranked No. 72 in the global VRS standings and won the Parken Challenger Championship Season 4 on LAN earlier this year.
EAC’s statement read: ‘The organization, operations, and players… remain unchanged.’ The organization added it will continue under its own identity, saying the team has exceeded expectations and aims to advance professionally.
The rebrand removes the AaB name from the team’s competitive identity. The team will keep its existing competitive schedule and staff structure. The organization did not specify any changes to sponsorship or long-term commercial arrangements.
