9z eliminate TYLOO, reach XSE Pro League semifinals

9z eliminated home team TYLOO 2-1 in Guangzhou on Thursday in the XSE Pro League quarterfinals, securing a place in the semifinals and guaranteeing at least a top-four finish.

The series opened on Nuke, where 9z won 13-9. TYLOO responded on Mirage with a 13-7 victory to force a decider. On Inferno, 9z won eight of the first nine rounds on the T side and closed the map 13-5.

Franco ‘dgt’ Garcia produced eight T-side rounds in the Inferno first half and registered a +9.88% impact swing, 112.6 average damage per round on the map and a 1.91 map rating. Matias ‘HUASOPEEK’ Ibañez Hernandez led 9z across the series with a 1.21 overall rating and a strong performance on Nuke. Dongkai ‘Jee’ JiJee led TYLOO with 46 kills, a 71.5 average damage per round and a 1.08 rating. Yi ‘JamYoung’ Yang and Su ‘Zero’ Jingshen posted ratings of 1.02 and 1.00 respectively.

9z will face the winner of the Alliance vs. Nemesis quarterfinal in the semifinals. Alliance beat 9z 2-0 in the Swiss stage; an Alliance win would set up a rematch.

The XSE Pro League semifinals will decide which teams advance to the final and determine final event placements.
