Week 28: Eyeballers sub and CS2 bomb shockwave update

Eyeballers will field Simon “yxngstxr” Boije as a stand-in for Max “maxster” Jansson during the online stage of BLAST Bounty 2026 Season 2. Jansson was granted leave for a vacation shortly before the team accepted the event invitation. The Swedish side is scheduled to face FaZe in the first round of the single-elimination bracket on 22 July 2026.

Valve released an update for Counter-Strike 2 that changes how the bomb’s shockwave interacts with player utility. The shockwave now blows away deployed smoke grenades and extinguishes active molotov and incendiary grenades. The update changes the bomb damage health preview so it appears only for players when the planted bomb is audible to them.

Removed smoke will reopen sightlines around the bomb site. Extinguished molotovs and incendiaries will stop creating lingering fire damage and will no longer block angles after detonation. The audible-based health preview ties the visual damage indicator to a player’s ability to hear the planted bomb rather than showing damage information at all times.

The patch also updated several community maps and added a workshop maps section to the Steam China release. Players and teams can find the full list of changes through the Counter-Strike 2 client and on Steam.

The Eyeballers substitution applies only to the online portion of BLAST Bounty Season 2. Tournament rules permit temporary stand-ins for roster changes or personal leaves. Match times and the event schedule are available on BLAST’s official event pages.
