Fabien “Neo” Devide becomes CEO of French esports organization Vitality; co-founder Nicolas Maurer shifts to Chief Strategy Officer and will step back from daily operations.
Fabien “Neo” Devide, chairman and co-founder of French esports organization Vitality, has been named CEO. The leadership change was announced on LinkedIn. Co-founder Nicolas Maurer will move into the newly created role of Chief Strategy Officer and reduce his involvement in daily operations.
The post states Maurer will concentrate on evolving Vitality’s business model and on new developments within the organization. Devide described the change as a clarification of responsibilities between the two founders while affirming their ongoing partnership. Devide wrote: “Our bond as co-founders remains unbreakable, but our roles are now clearly defined to make Vitality even stronger.”
Devide outlined his priorities as CEO, saying he will place renewed emphasis on the competitive performance of Vitality’s teams and on activities that engage the organization’s global community. The LinkedIn announcement framed the transition as a reorientation toward results in competition and community engagement.
Under the new structure, Devide will lead the organization’s operational and competitive programs. Maurer will focus on longer-term strategy, business-model development and project work described as “new developments” in the post. Before the change, Devide served as chairman and Maurer led the organization.
