Valve tweaks CS2 viewmodels, caps item trades at 1,000

Valve’s April 23 Counter-Strike 2 update adjusts Animgraph 2 viewmodel animations, corrects textures and ground smoothing, and caps CS2 item trade offers at 1,000.

Valve published a small Counter-Strike 2 update on April 23 and posted the patch notes on its official blog. The update lists targeted fixes under Gameplay, Animgraph 2 and Misc rather than broad gameplay changes.

The Animgraph 2 section records minor adjustments to viewmodel animations. Animgraph 2 is the animation framework that controls first-person weapon and hand animations; viewmodels are the weapons and hands players see during movement, firing and reloading.

Under Gameplay, the patch adjusts ground smoothing at locations where players could stand on very thin ledges. The change addresses collision and surface behavior at specific map spots where thin ledges previously allowed unintended standing positions.

The Misc section corrects several improper character texture assignments. The notes also state that trade offers containing Counter-Strike 2 items are now limited to a maximum of 1,000 items per offer. Valve framed the change as an update to how offers that include CS2-designated items are handled going forward.

The April 23 patch focuses on animation timing, surface collision smoothing and texture corrections and does not list new content or new gameplay systems. Players and traders can consult Valve’s published patch notes for the complete list of changes.
