Ubisoft to shut down Rainbow Six Mobile in January 2027
Ubisoft will shut down Rainbow Six Mobile on Jan. 15, 2027, less than a year after its Feb. 23 global launch. The next season will arrive next week.
Ubisoft will end Rainbow Six Mobile less than a year after its global launch. The game’s servers will remain online until Jan. 15, 2027.
The company announced the decision in a social media update, writing, “We have made the difficult decision to sunset Rainbow Six Mobile.” Ubisoft confirmed that the next season will launch as planned next week. More information about the shutdown and player preparations will be released in the coming weeks.
Long-term development will end during the transition period. The team working on Rainbow Six Mobile will be reassigned to other strategic projects at Ubisoft.
The mobile tactical shooter spent nearly three years in technical testing, closed betas and development before its worldwide release on Feb. 23, 2026. It entered soft launch in August 2023 and went through a development pause in 2024. During that period, Ubisoft reworked the game’s modes, progression system and in-game economy.
Rainbow Six Mobile adapted the 5-vs.-5 tactical gameplay of Rainbow Six Siege for smartphones. It featured customizable controls, specialized Operators and destructible environments. Over 15 seasons and several testing phases, players competed on Siege maps including Bank and Oregon, along with mobile-exclusive locations such as Restaurant and Summit.
In its farewell message, the development team thanked players for sharing videos, match highlights and tournament strategies during the game’s testing and release.
