TYLOO to bootcamp in Europe ahead of Esports World Cup

TYLOO will travel to Europe for a bootcamp ahead of the Esports World Cup in Singapore after a quarter-final loss to 9z at the XSE Pro League in Guangzhou.

TYLOO will travel to Europe for a bootcamp to prepare for the Esports World Cup in Singapore, the team announced after their quarter-final exit to 9z at the XSE Pro League in Guangzhou.

The Latin American side closed the best-of-three series in three maps. TYLOO started well on Nuke from the CT side but made a series of errors that allowed 9z to take control. TYLOO won the second map, but managed just four rounds in the decider; their CT performance on that map was noted as a weakness.

Dongkai “Jee” Ji said opponents appeared to have studied TYLOO’s setups on Nuke and that Nuke is one of 9z’s stronger maps. He added that the map veto differed from their previous meeting because Overpass was removed from the pool, and that 9z currently show deeper map skills overall.

Jee also cited health issues as a factor: three teammates were suffering from the flu during the match, which affected the team’s play. TYLOO were not originally scheduled to take part in the Guangzhou event and received an invitation after another team withdrew. Playing at a home LAN mattered to the club because of local fan support and the organisation’s long history in China.

Looking ahead, the squad plans to use the European bootcamp to increase map depth and match readiness before the Esports World Cup. Jee noted TYLOO did not hold a European bootcamp before the Cologne Major but still reached Stage 2 there. The team’s short-term competitive target is to reach the playoffs at a Major, with advancing to Stage 3 seen as a realistic next milestone. On an individual level, Jee aims to become the best AWPer in Asia.

When discussing future events and goals, Jee finished with a rallying shout: “Singapore, Singapore, Stage 3, TYLOO!”
