Twistzz masterclass sends FaZe to Rivals quarterfinals

Twistzz led FaZe to a 2-1 comeback over FURIA at BLAST Rivals Fort Worth, winning Dust2 13-4 and Nuke 13-3 after dropping Mirage 7-13, sealed by a 2v4 retake.

FaZe defeated FURIA 2-1 in the lower bracket of Group B at BLAST Rivals Fort Worth, taking Dust2 13-4, dropping Mirage 7-13, and closing the series 13-3 on Nuke. The final round ended with a 2v4 retake that secured the match for FaZe.

The win came in FaZe’s second match with Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken as in-game leader and Ryan “Neityu” Aubry filling in as a stand-in. Twistzz led the team’s calls on Dust2 and Nuke after a quieter debut as IGL earlier in the event.

FaZe opened with a 13-4 result on Dust2. FURIA recovered on Mirage, winning 13-7 with strong contributions from Danil “molodoy” Golubenko and Kaike “KSCERATO” Cerato; KSCERATO produced a 1v3 clutch on Mirage. On Nuke FaZe established a 10-2 halftime lead, Jakub “jcobbb” Pietruszewski delivered a quad-kill in the second pistol, and FaZe finished the decider 13-3.

Helvijs “broky” Saukants recorded a 1.48 match rating and totaled 37 kills. David “frozen” Čerňanský and Neityu also finished with 37 kills apiece. Jakub “jcobbb” posted 31 kills and Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken had 31 kills while handling in-game leadership.

For FURIA, Danil “molodoy” Golubenko and Mareks “YEKINDAR” Gaļinskis each had 42 kills. Kaike “KSCERATO” Cerato finished with 31 kills, Yuri “yuurih” Santos had 22 and Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo 21. Match ratings were 1.18 for molodoy and 1.11 for YEKINDAR; KSCERATO’s rating was 0.78, yuurih 0.75 and FalleN 0.69.

FURIA had lost their opening match at Fort Worth to GamerLegion earlier in the event. FaZe advance to the quarterfinals at BLAST Rivals Fort Worth. FURIA have less than a week before PGL Astana next week.
