TV Tokyo Plans Multiple Naruto Games Starting 2027

TV Tokyo confirmed during its May 2026 fiscal results briefing that several new Naruto video games are in development, with the first releases scheduled to begin in 2027. The projects are tied to the franchise’s 25th-anniversary program and form part of the company’s broader content roadmap.

Company executives presented the anniversary as the start of a new phase for the brand and described a Content as a Service strategy intended to expand the Naruto and Boruto properties beyond television and streaming. The plan aims to reach global audiences through multiple types of entertainment and recurring content releases.

TV Tokyo said it will work with new development partners and creative teams to produce the games. The company also announced plans for additional animation projects, expanded merchandising, large-scale themed events and the development of dedicated entertainment parks as components of its long-term roadmap for the franchise.

Executives did not provide specific details about the upcoming games. Information on developers, game genres, target platforms and exact release windows has not been released. The company’s use of the plural term “games” in its briefing indicates multiple standalone titles rather than a single release.

Earlier Naruto gaming projects — including entries tied to Naruto Shippuden, Naruto x Boruto Ninja Voltage, the mobile iteration of Ultimate Ninja STORM and more recent titles such as Naruto Kage — drew varied critical and community responses. Naruto characters have also appeared in collaborations with other game titles that continued to attract player interest.

During the briefing, TV Tokyo executives commented, “We view the franchise’s 25th anniversary not as the peak of its popularity, but as the beginning of an entirely new chapter.”

Beyond confirming a 2027 start for game releases, TV Tokyo has not published a timetable for subsequent launches or outlined an international rollout plan.
