Team Yandex Wins Second PGL Wallachia Title as Viewers Fall

Team Yandex swept Natus Vincere 3–0 in the Grand Final to win PGL Wallachia Season 9 in Bucharest, taking the $300,000 top prize. Natus Vincere received $175,000 for finishing second.

The two-weekend event featured 16 invited teams. Competitors first played a single Swiss stage before advancing to a double-elimination playoff bracket.

Broadcasts averaged 93,200 viewers, peaked at 217,500 during the Grand Final, and accumulated 9.6 million Hours Watched. This is the first Wallachia event to record fewer than 10 million total hours.

Compared with Season 8, average viewership declined 21.7% and peak viewers fell 13.6%.

Organizers reported lower audience figures on major Russian-language channels. The official dota2_paragon_ru channel’s average audience nearly halved, and streamer Roman “ramzes” Kushnarev saw a 26.4% drop in average viewers. Both had been among the top broadcasts in earlier seasons.

Season 9’s lineup included several emerging teams from South America and Southeast Asia. Established names such as Team Spirit, BB Team, PARIVISION and Team Liquid did not compete.

By peak viewers, Season 7 was the most-watched Wallachia event of 2026 at 295,200 concurrent viewers. The series record remains Season 1 with a peak of 486,500.

Season 9 closed out PGL’s 2026 calendar. The next Wallachia event is scheduled for March 2027 in Bucharest, with the same number of teams and prize pool expected and regional qualifiers planned ahead of the tournament.
