Team Spirit wins third The International; TI 2026 peaks at 1.79M

Team Spirit defeated PVISION 3-2 in the Grand Final of The International 2026 in Shanghai to become the first organization to win the Dota 2 world championship three times. The victory adds to Team Spirit’s titles from 2021 and 2023.

PVISION had beaten Team Spirit twice earlier in the tournament, first with a sweep in the Group Stage and later 2-1 in the upper bracket semifinals. Team Spirit dropped to the lower bracket and then swept Team Liquid, BB Team and Team Yandex to reach the final, where they won a five-game series to reclaim the title.

Illya ‘Yatoro’ Mulyarchuk and Magomed ‘Collapse’ Khalilov each collected their third International championship as players. Former captain Yaroslav ‘Miposhka’ Naidenov won his third TI title serving as Team Spirit’s coach. Denis ‘Larl’ Sigitov added a second International win to his record.

The top four finishing positions were occupied by Eastern European organizations: Team Spirit, PVISION, Team Yandex and BB Team. The Grand Final drew the tournament’s largest live audience, peaking at 1,792,174 concurrent viewers. An earlier playoff meeting between Team Spirit and PVISION peaked at about 1.06 million viewers, and a match between Nigma Galaxy and defending champions Team Falcons reached roughly 952,700 peak viewers.

Compared with 2025, TI 2026 showed slight increases across main viewership metrics. Peak concurrent viewership rose about 0.4% from 1.785 million to 1.792 million. Hours Watched increased from 63.17 million to 64.35 million, about a 1.9% gain. Average Viewers grew by roughly 1.1% year over year. By peak concurrent viewers, TI 2026 ranks third in the series behind the 2021 event (2.74 million) and the 2019 event (1.97 million), and it narrowly surpassed the 2025 and 2022 editions.

On the 2026 esports calendar, The International ranks seventh by peak viewers, behind major tournaments in Mobile Legends, Counter-Strike and League of Legends. TI 2026 finished nearly level with the PUBG Mobile World Cup 2026, with a difference of 457 peak viewers. Reported global concurrent viewership figures do not include audience counts from Chinese streaming services, whose metrics are not directly comparable; that exclusion is relevant given the event was held in Shanghai.
