Liquid targets JT as new in-game leader

Team Liquid is reportedly targeting Johnny “JT” Theodosiou to take over as in-game leader from Kamil “siuhy” Szkaradek. The reported change follows a season in which Liquid recorded one of the lowest T-side win rates in the scene and exited Stage 1 of the Major with a 2-3 record. Team leadership and tactical direction have been under review since the Major.

JT became available in May when Passion UA opened its roster to transfers. He previously played alongside Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski on Complexity. The two were seen playing together online after Liquid’s elimination from the Major.

The expected active roster would list Johnny “JT” Theodosiou as in-game leader alongside Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski, Keith “NAF” Markovic, Mario “malbsMd” Samayoa and Roland “ultimate” Tomkowiak. Viktor “flashie” Tamás is reported as a substitute and Bea remains as coach. Kamil “siuhy” Szkaradek would move to the bench under the reported plan.

Liquid is also exploring upgrades at Roland “ultimate” Tomkowiak’s slot, though that search is said to be less advanced than the pursuit of a new in-game leader.

Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski commented on the team’s recent direction: “It always felt like whatever direction that we went, we weren’t fully going into it.”

No official announcement has been released by Team Liquid. Transfers and any additional roster moves have not been confirmed.
