Team Liquid, MWS to Auction Esports World Cup Jerseys for UNICEF

Team Liquid and MWS will auction jerseys worn at the Esports World Cup starting July 6, 2026, with net proceeds going to UNICEF.

Team Liquid and sports memorabilia platform MWS will hold a digital auction of player jerseys worn at the Esports World Cup, starting July 6, 2026. Net proceeds will be donated to UNICEF to fund children’s education access, digital inclusion and humanitarian crisis relief.

The auction will run as a digital circuit with staggered item drops timed to Team Liquid’s competition schedule in Paris. Inventory will include signed jerseys from all Team Liquid roster across the 10 titles the organisation qualified for, including Apex Legends, Dota 2, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and Chess. The Chess lot will feature the jersey worn by Grandmaster Magnus Carlsen.

Additional items may be added to the auction if Team Liquid’s Counter-Strike 2 and Rainbow Six Siege teams secure late-stage qualifications.

MWS will authenticate each jersey using NFC technology. Each item will carry a smartphone-scannable chip that links to a verified digital certificate of origin to reduce the risk of counterfeit sales.

Net proceeds will be donated directly to UNICEF. Team Liquid confirmed the funds are intended to support UNICEF programs focused on education access, digital inclusion and responses to humanitarian crises affecting children.

The auction is the fourth and largest joint activation between Team Liquid and UNICEF since the organisations began their partnership in November 2025. Earlier collaborations included UNICEF as a front-of-shirt sponsor for Team Liquid’s EA FC division. Team Liquid’s community and competitive rosters raised $20,264 for UNICEF during the 2026 World of Warcraft Race to World First event.

MWS co-founder Tijmen Zonderwijk described esports as an emerging market and said the company is entering the sector with Team Liquid during the Esports World Cup. “The partnership with Team Liquid is a first for us,” he added, noting the auction will aim to attract both existing memorabilia collectors and new esports fans.

Team Liquid founder and co-CEO Victor Goossens highlighted the shared origins of the two companies and the charitable focus. “MWS built something impressive in traditional sports, starting from the Netherlands just like we did,” he added, saying the auction will extend the organisations’ work with UNICEF.

In 2025, UNICEF signed an agreement with the Esports Foundation to promote youth empowerment, community initiatives and online safety within the esports ecosystem.
