T1 Re-Signs BuZz Through 2028 for 2027 VALORANT Roster

T1 has re-signed Yu “BuZz” Byung-chul through 2028, one day after extending Kim “stax” Gu-taek. The deals give T1 two confirmed players for its 2027 VALORANT roster.

T1 announced BuZz’s contract extension on Friday, Nov. 6, one day after confirming stax’s renewal through 2028. The two players were part of T1’s lineup that won Masters Bangkok in March 2025, securing the organization’s first major international VALORANT title.

BuZz joined T1 in October 2024 after leaving DRX. He helped T1 defeat G2 Esports 3-2 in the Masters Bangkok grand final. In 2026, T1 reached the VALORANT Champions playoffs for the first time. The team finished in fifth-sixth place after a 2-1 loss to G2 in Shanghai.

Stax joined T1 in June 2024. Ham “iZu” Woo-joo remains under contract through the end of 2027, giving T1 three confirmed players for the 2027 VCT Pacific season.

The contract extensions followed the departures of Kim “Meteor” Tae-oh, Byeon “Munchkin” Sang-beom and Kang “DH” Dong-ho, which T1 confirmed in early November. The organization also parted ways with head coach Kim “KDG” Dong-gun and assistant coach Lee “CheongGak” Il-ho.

So “sungmin” Seong-min has returned to T1’s coaching staff. The organization said he will work with a new head coach, whose identity has not been announced.

Reports have linked Tyson “TenZ” Ngo and Austin “crashies” Roberts with potential moves to T1. TenZ would return to professional competition after retiring in 2024. Former Brazilian player Gustavo “Sacy” Rossi has also been linked with the vacant head coach position. T1 has not confirmed any of the reported additions.

If the reported moves happen, Sacy would reunite with TenZ. The pair won Masters Madrid in 2024 with Sentinels. T1 holds one of the eight VCT Pacific partnership slots for the 2027 and 2028 seasons.
