Spirit reach Esports World Cup final with 2-0 win over Legacy

Spirit defeated Legacy 13-7 on Dust2 and 13-9 on Ancient on August 23 to reach the Esports World Cup 2026 grand final. The best-of-three semifinal ended in two maps. Spirit will face FUT in a best-of-five final on championship Sunday after Legacy and FURIA complete the third-place match.
On Dust2, Legacy opened with a 5-1 lead after early multi-kills from Vinicius n1ssim Pereira. Spirit trailed at halftime but overturned the deficit after the side switch. Danil donk Kryshkovets and Myroslav zont1x Plakhotia produced several multi-kill rounds and successful entries. Spirit recovered a 3v5 round following a double Deagle by Bruno latto Rebelatto when zont1x landed a jumping M4 kill on a lurk by n1ssim, and Dmitry sh1ro Sokolov later won a 1v3 clutch with little time remaining. Spirit closed Dust2 13-7.
On Ancient, Legacy won both pistols and their conversions but lost rounds where Spirit had defenders stacked on sites. Spirit used coordinated information plays to limit Legacy’s rotations and individual duels. The map finished 13-9 in Spirit’s favor.
Series statistics show donk finished with 44 kills and a 1.62 rating, while sh1ro recorded 37 kills and a 1.50 rating. Zont1x added 26 kills. Santino try Rigal led Legacy with 31 kills. Vinicius n1ssim Pereira posted a 22-32 kill-death line across the two maps.
Legacy will play FURIA in the third-place decider. The best-of-five grand final between Spirit and FUT is scheduled to follow on championship Sunday.
