Sapec leaves Johnny Speeds, enters free agency

Anton “Sapec” Palmgren has left Johnny Speeds after 528 days and entered free agency after choosing not to renew his contract, the Swedish player announced on X.

Anton “Sapec” Palmgren has left Johnny Speeds after 528 days with the organization, electing not to renew his contract and entering free agency. Johnny Speeds confirmed Palmgren will no longer be on the club’s roster after a season and a half.

The roster change followed a lineup update: Teodor “titulus” Krizbai Obradovic has been in the starting lineup since mid-May. The team made the change before Sapec’s departure was formally announced.

During his 1.5-year stint with Johnny Speeds, Sapec competed mainly in local and tier-two VRS events. His results with the club include a victory at the Svenska Elitserien Spring 2025 Finals and top-three finishes at Level Up LUND! 2025, the Elisa Nordic Championship 2025, and Parken Challenger Championship Season 2.

Before joining Johnny Speeds, Sapec played for EYEBALLERS and Metizport. In a post on X, Sapec wrote, “My time with Johnny Speeds has come to an end after 1.5 years. It was a fun ride with a lot of ups and downs; felt it was time to move on.” He did not name a next team and is evaluating offers as a free agent.

Johnny Speeds did not provide details on contract terms or plans for the rest of the season. Sapec’s next team will be confirmed if he signs a contract or accepts a trial with another organization.
