Rockstar Artist Deactivates Account After GTA 6 Leak Reply
Lead character artist Saikat Koley deactivated his social account after telling a fan that reporter Jason Schreier should not ‘poke his nose’ into GTA 6.
Saikat Koley, a lead character artist at Rockstar India in Bengaluru, deactivated his public social account after replying to a fan about reporter Jason Schreier and deleting the reply. Fans tracking Grand Theft Auto 6 chatter noticed the exchange and the account disappearance in late April.
The thread began when a fan account asked for more ‘good news’ about Grand Theft Auto 6 from Schreier. Koley responded in a direct message aimed at the reporter, writing, ‘We don’t want him poking his nose into our company and project.’ The message was removed soon after and Koley’s account appeared to be deactivated.
Koley is credited on Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2. The comment drew attention because leaks and early reports about Grand Theft Auto 6 have been widely discussed online and many fans seek early details.
Jason Schreier has previously reported on Grand Theft Auto 6, including details published before an official trailer announcement. Fans have been looking for additional reports and updates as the game’s marketing schedule approaches.
Rockstar Games announced a revised release date of November 19, 2026 for Grand Theft Auto 6 and said the extra time would allow the development team to finish the game to the level of polish players expect. Current and former employees have described tight internal controls on information about ongoing projects, and industry sources say the studio has at times circulated false information to discourage leaks.
Rockstar has not commented on Koley’s social activity, and Koley has not issued a statement. Screenshots of the exchange were saved and circulated by fan accounts on social platforms where Grand Theft Auto 6 discussions are active.
