Riot discounts skins used by MSI 2026 champions

Riot Games has discounted the in-game skins worn by Hanwha Life Esports during the MSI 2026 Grand Finals, offering them at 33% off in the client through July 20. The discounted items appear in the client storefront and cover most skins used by HLE in the five-game series that HLE won 3-2 over Bilibili Gaming.

Viewers first flagged the promotion on social media and players confirmed reduced prices in the client. The sale follows Riot’s recent practice of displaying skin names and splash art during broadcasts and matching those visuals with post-match store offers.

Not every champion in the finals had a purchasable skin. Lee Sin’s Heavenscale is a Legacy Vault item and was not available for general sale, so the standard Lee Sin model appeared in the store. Orianna wore no skin in Game 1 and the client showed a recommended option. Ashe’s High Noon legendary skin, normally priced at 1,850 RP, is listed at the discounted rate.

The promotion runs in the client until July 20. After that date, pricing and availability will revert to Riot’s regular vault and rotation schedules. Riot often times store updates and content releases for early evening hours when patches and client updates are applied.

Some community members questioned whether visible, time-limited promotions tied to broadcasts create immediate post-match purchases and suggested event-driven sales could direct a larger share of revenue to teams given financial pressures in professional esports.
