RFT.GG inks Rainbet partnership with strict guardrails
RFT.GG has partnered with Rainbet to add live League of Legends odds, with France geo-blocked, a global toggle to disable odds and a ban on sponsored social posts and paid promotions.
Esports platform RFT.GG announced a commercial partnership with online betting operator Rainbet to embed live match odds across its League of Legends coverage. The integration will display real-time odds and Rainbet branding on match pages.
The commercial content and odds displays will be geo-blocked for users accessing the site from France. RFT.GG says the advertising will be limited to passive match pages and will not appear in editorial articles, social channels or paid marketing.
The company has added responsible-gambling controls to the technical integration. A permanent global user toggle lets visitors turn off all odds and betting visuals across the platform. The partnership agreement also bans sponsored social media posts and paid promotional content tied to the deal.
RFT.GG plans to reinvest the sponsorship revenue into backend software development, user-interface work and global marketing aimed at growing its audience and product. The company says it intends to reduce reliance on gambling revenue as the platform scales.
The announcement prompted negative reactions from some users on social media. Thomas Moisson, chief executive officer of RFT.GG, acknowledged the criticism and provided the company statement: “Nobody builds a League stats site dreaming of putting betting on it, so I understand the pushback. That’s why we drew hard lines: no odds in France, nothing on our socials, no paid content, and a toggle to switch odds off entirely. Betting helps fund that for now, but it’s not what we want to be built on. Everything it earns goes back into building revenue that lasts, so we can rely on it less over time.”
