Red Bull Malaysia unveils Next Generation for esports talent
Red Bull Malaysia launched Red Bull Next Generation for 18- to 25-year-olds in Malaysia and Indonesia, including esports players. The program offers mentorship, workshops, media training and financial support; applications open June 2026.
Red Bull Malaysia has launched Red Bull Next Generation, a development program for athletes aged 18 to 25 in Malaysia and Indonesia that explicitly includes esports competitors. TCP Group, one of the Red Bull brand owners in Asia, will run the initial roll-out in those two countries.
The program is open to athletes from any sport or discipline who are actively building their careers. Selection will weigh factors such as mindset, potential, commitment and the level of existing support around an athlete rather than relying only on past results or social media reach.
Organisers have not disclosed which esports titles will be eligible or whether the program will target players from particular games.
Selected athletes will receive workshops, mentorship, media training, financial assistance and content visibility across Red Bull channels. Organisers describe the package as practical support and exposure aimed at helping athletes develop professionally.
Supasita Kraisri, Chief Global Marketing Officer at TCP Group, described Southeast Asia as having an “incredible future generation of athletes, creators and communities shaping the future of sport and culture.” Adelene Tay, Head of Marketing for TCP Red Bull Malaysia, noted the program continues Red Bull Malaysia’s support for local sport, citing past involvement in grassroots motorsports. Sigurd Meiche, program director for Red Bull Next Generation, pointed out the initiative targets young athletes who are working hard before wider attention arrives.
Applications for Malaysian athletes aged 18 to 25 open in June 2026 via the Red Bull Next Generation website. The first cohort is expected to be announced from August 2026, and organisers plan to expand the program across Southeast Asia after the initial roll-out in Malaysia and Indonesia.
