Razer buys StreamElements assets to broaden creator tools

Razer acquired substantially all assets of StreamElements from Live Momentum Ltd; the platform will stay live, the team remains, and tipping continues unchanged.

Razer acquired substantially all assets of StreamElements from Live Momentum Ltd, including intellectual property, platform data, know‑how and business records. The companies did not disclose financial terms.

Razer said the StreamElements platform will remain live for creators, the existing StreamElements team has been retained and tipping will continue unchanged. Part of the purchase price has been set aside to cover payments owed to creators for activity before the deal closed. Live Momentum has begun making those pre-closing payments and remains responsible for debts and liabilities that existed before the sale.

StreamElements is a cloud-based toolset used by live streamers. It provides custom overlays, on-stream alerts, chatbots, tipping pages and sponsorship management tools, and operates a sponsorship marketplace called SE.Live.

Razer said it will explore deeper integrations between StreamElements’ services and its creator-focused hardware and software. The company pointed to a 2024 refresh of its Content Creator Program that added tens of thousands of creators, offered perks and direct access to Razer staff through Discord, and introduced bounty programs that reward content production.

Min-Liang Tan, Razer’s co-founder and CEO, described StreamElements as a platform millions of creators rely on and said bringing it into Razer allows the company to increase support for creators. Or Perry, StreamElements’ co-founder and CEO, called the deal a personal full-circle moment and added that StreamElements will be in hands familiar with the creator community.

The acquisition brings a widely used set of creator tools into Razer’s portfolio while keeping day-to-day platform access and tipping functionality unchanged. Both companies said they will work on integration plans; financial details of the transaction were not made public.
