Razer acquires StreamElements assets, keeps platform running

Razer has bought substantially all StreamElements assets from Live Momentum Ltd, including IP and platform data. StreamElements will continue to operate and its team will be retained.

Razer has acquired substantially all assets of StreamElements from Live Momentum Ltd, including intellectual property rights, platform data, know‑how and business records. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The platform will continue operating with the current StreamElements team in place. Razer confirmed tipping features will remain active for creators.

Part of the purchase consideration has been set aside to cover outstanding payments owed to creators for activity that occurred before the deal closed. Live Momentum has begun making those payments and remains responsible for pre-closing debts and liabilities.

StreamElements supplies tools used by many live streamers, including custom overlays, on-stream alerts, chatbots, tipping pages, sponsorship management and the SE.Live sponsorship marketplace.

Razer indicated it plans to explore deeper technical integrations between StreamElements services and Razer hardware and software for creators, and to fold StreamElements capabilities into its existing partnership and bounty programmes.

Razer CEO Min-Liang Tan called the deal an extension of the company’s relationship with creators and commented: “Content creators and live streamers are an integral part of the Razer community, and they have been for a very long time. StreamElements has built something millions of creators depend on every single day. Bringing them into the Razer family lets us double down on what we already do for creators.”

Or Perry, co-founder and CEO of StreamElements, described the outcome as a personal full-circle moment and said: “StreamElements could not be in better hands. Razer understands that creators have been embedded in this community for years, and they share the same obsession for getting it right.”

The companies did not provide a timetable for product changes or technical integrations. Razer indicated StreamElements will continue to operate on its current platform while the company evaluates how to combine services and hardware.

The acquisition follows Razer’s 2024 refresh of its Content Creator Program, which onboarded tens of thousands of creators and offered perks, direct access to Razer staff through Discord and bounty programmes that reward content creation.

StreamElements began as a tools provider focused on live-streaming workflows and monetisation. Razer is a hardware, peripherals and software maker with long-standing ties to esports and content creators; the acquisition adds software tools to the company’s existing product and services mix.
