PUBG Esports to split regions and change partnerships in 2027

KRAFTON will divide EMEA and the Americas into five regions, add India and remove guaranteed PUBG Global Series slots for Global Partner Teams in 2027.

KRAFTON will restructure PUBG Esports in 2027 by creating smaller competitive regions, adding India and changing how teams qualify for the PUBG Global Series (PGS) and the PUBG Global Championship (PGC).

The current EMEA region will become Europe, Eurasia and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). The Americas will be divided into North America and South America. India will join the circuit as a new competitive region.

Each region will operate a Regional League. Results in those leagues will determine which teams qualify for each PGS tournament.

KRAFTON will also change its Global Partner Team (GPT) program. Partner teams currently receive guaranteed PGS slots. From 2027, the program will focus on collaborations involving in-game items and marketing. GPT teams will have to qualify for the PGS through their Regional League results, like other teams. Further details of the revised program will be announced later.

The company will replace the existing PGC Points and PGS Points systems with PUBG Esports Points. Teams will earn the new points only through their PGS performances. Their totals will accumulate during the season and count toward qualification for the PGC.

Regional League results will determine entry to each PGS event, while PGS results will build a team’s total for the year-end championship. KRAFTON has not announced the points awarded for specific results or the rules for qualifying for the PGC.

The 2027 season is scheduled to begin with Phase 1 from late March to early May. Phase 2 is planned for mid-May to mid-June, followed by the PUBG Nations Cup in early July. Phase 3 is scheduled for early August through mid-September, and Phase 4 for late September through early November. The 2027 PGC is expected to take place from late November to early December.

KRAFTON has not released the formats or full schedules for the Regional Leagues, the complete PGC qualification system or further details about the partnership program. The company also plans to introduce a new visual identity for PUBG Esports before the 2027 season.
