paiN promotes Bruno ‘Butcher’ Pereira to communications head

paiN Gaming promoted Bruno ‘Butcher’ Pereira to Content and Communications Manager at a press conference where the club also revealed its renewed League of Legends roster. The role expands his remit to include brand storytelling and public relations.

Pereira joined paiN as Content Manager in late 2025. He previously worked in games journalism and served as editor-in-chief at a Brazilian esports outlet. In his new post he will lead the club’s media strategy, align content production with corporate messaging, and handle direct communications with the community.

The club announced the appointment amid executive turnover and public scrutiny. In March 2026 CEO Thomas Hamence resigned after reports examined the organisation’s handling of sexual abuse allegations involving player Alexandre ‘TitaN’ Lima. Following those reports, several organised fan groups announced they had severed ties with the club.

On the competitive front, paiN recorded one match win in the League of Legends split, its worst result in 15 years. To broaden commercial activity, the organisation fields a co-branded team in the Kings League under the name Desimpain; that team won the domestic Brazilian tournament and qualified for the international edition.

Pereira will coordinate press relations, manage crisis communications and present roster moves and off-field initiatives to local and international audiences. Club representatives presented the promotion as part of efforts to professionalise media output and strengthen governance and public-facing processes while the club rebuilds competitive performance.

The new role places Pereira in charge of unifying communications across esports divisions and lifestyle content and supporting relationships with supporters and sponsors.
