Usyk relaxes with Counter-Strike 2 after WBC title defense
After an 11th-round TKO of Rico Verhoeven to retain the WBC and The Ring titles, Oleksandr Usyk posted a Telegram video of himself playing Counter-Strike 2 captioned “Just relaxing.”
Ukrainian heavyweight Oleksandr Usyk posted a brief video on his official Telegram channel shortly after defeating Dutch fighter Rico Verhoeven by 11th-round technical knockout. The clip shows him playing Counter-Strike 2 with the caption “Just relaxing.”
The clip opens with a player using the handle “UNDISPUTED” securing the final kill on the Dust II map while on the Terrorists side. The footage then cuts to Usyk seated and gaming, linking the on-screen action with the boxer.
Comments under the post included invitations from Counter-Strike players to face him one-on-one or form a squad, along with messages of support.
His interest in gaming has surfaced before. In 2024 he was added as a playable character to the boxing title Undisputed; at the time he described being “proud to be part of the first major boxing game in over 10 years.” In July 2025, ahead of a planned rematch with Daniel Dubois, he and members of his team visited a gaming club to play Counter-Strike 2. He joked at the time, “We’re working here, and around 4 p.m. we might go play some CS. I like playing on the Terrorist side.”
